What Makes Us Different
At Mother Cluckin’ Chicken, we believe great food starts with great care — for the land, the birds, and the people who gather around the table. We’re not a factory farm; we’re a small family farm built on respect, hard work, and a cluckin’ big belief that food should be real, local, and full of flavor.

We raise chickens the way nature intended — outside on fresh grass, soaking up sunshine, scratching for bugs, and eating clean, wholesome feed. The result? Healthier birds, healthier people, and a healthier planet.

Bugs, Not Drugs

Our chickens live outside on pasture where they do what chickens do best — scratch, peck, and chase bugs. This natural lifestyle keeps them healthy without the need for antibiotics or chemicals. We call it “bugs, not drugs,” and it’s one of our core farming principles.

Because of our rotational grazing system, our birds are always on the move, never standing in their own waste or living in one spot long enough for parasites to build up. The sunlight is our natural medicine, killing off harmful bacteria and breaking down manure. By the time the chickens return to a patch of ground, the sun has done its job — leaving behind clean grass, fresh bugs, and healthy soil.

It’s a simple, sustainable cycle that keeps our chickens strong, our land fertile, and our food clean — no drugs required.

Rotational Grazing & Regenerative Farming

We practice rotational grazing, moving our birds to new pasture regularly. This prevents overgrazing, spreads natural fertilizer evenly, and keeps both chickens and soil thriving. As our flock grazes, they leave behind droppings that act as organic fertilizer, feeding the earth instead of harming it.

That natural fertilizer boosts the nutrient content of our grasses and garden crops, increases soil biodiversity, and improves the health of our land year after year. The result is a regenerative system that produces cleaner air, richer soil, and more nutrient-dense food for your family.

Nutrient-Dense Food

Pasture-raised chicken isn’t just more flavorful — it’s more nutritious. Birds raised on grass and sunshine develop higher levels of Omega-3s, vitamin E, and beta carotene, and lower levels of saturated fat than their confinement-raised counterparts.

Because our chickens move freely, eat naturally, and live stress-free, they produce better meat and eggs — rich in flavor, packed with nutrients, and raised the way food should be.

Feed That Matters — New Country Organics

We proudly feed our flock with New Country Organics, one of the cleanest, most transparent feed companies in the country. Their feed is USDA Certified Organic, soy-free, and corn-free, made from non-GMO ingredients sourced from trusted farms.

It’s formulated for balanced nutrition — no fillers, no pesticides, and no synthetic additives. Just wholesome, honest feed that helps our birds grow strong and healthy while supporting sustainable agriculture.

Why No Soy?

Soy might be cheap and convenient, but it’s not what we want for our birds — or for your family. Soy can cause inflammation and hormone imbalance in both chickens and humans. By eliminating soy, our chickens stay healthier, our eggs are cleaner, and our meat has a richer, cleaner flavor with a more natural fat balance.

Why No Corn?

We skip corn because most commercial corn today is genetically modified and heavily treated with chemicals — but that’s not the only reason. Corn also raises a chicken’s internal temperature by up to 10 degrees.

That extra heat makes birds sluggish, discourages movement, and limits proper muscle growth. Building healthy muscle takes three basic things: protein, water, and movement — and if we were 10 degrees hotter, we wouldn’t move much either!

By keeping corn out of their diet, our chickens stay cooler, more active, and stronger, developing firm, flavorful meat naturally — no shortcuts, no overheating, no problem.

You Are What You Eat — And So Are We

We believe you are what you eat — and our chickens are too. Every decision we make — from feed to pasture management — is based on producing the healthiest birds and the cleanest, most honest food possible.

Happy chickens make healthy food, and healthy food builds stronger families and communities. That’s what drives everything we do.

Processing Matters

At Mother Cluckin’ Chicken, how we process our birds is just as important as how we raise them. We work with a small-batch USDA-inspected processor who shares our commitment to care, cleanliness, and respect from start to finish.

Unlike industrial plants that run thousands of birds per hour through massive automated lines, our birds are processed by hand, in small groups, with USDA oversight at every step. This ensures humane handling, attention to detail, and unmatched cleanliness.

Here’s something most people don’t realize: large processors often chill birds by dunking them in huge vats of chlorinated water — what the industry calls “fecal soup.” It’s exactly what it sounds like — and it spreads contamination from bird to bird.

We refuse to do that. Our birds are air-chilled, cooled naturally and individually, with no chemical baths or shared water. That means:

Cleaner, safer meat — no cross-contamination
Better texture and flavor — air-chilled meat stays firm and fresh
No chlorine or additives — just pure chicken
Consistent quality — every bird gets personal attention

This small-batch process produces the cleanest, most flavorful chicken possible — handled with respect from pasture to plate.
